Non-conventional renewable energies (NCRE) are gaining more and more ground within the Chilean energy matrix. According to the December (2021) bulletin of the electricity market (see), published by Generadoras de Chile, of the 30,224 MW that make up the National Electric System (SEN), 16,717 are renewable, while only 13,507 MW are fossil. But the difference is expected to widen even more as the months go by.
