The cardinal objectives of this activity are to demonstrate the added value of the Destination Earth (DestinE) system for policy and decision makers, to demonstrate the fitness-for-purpose of DestinE Core Service Platform (DESP) capabilities and services and ensure the active participation of user- and provider- communities in the DestinE project developments. To meet these objectives, the Prime Contractor shall:- Manage an ESA Best Practices procurement for the selection of a set of DestinE use cases relevant to the scope and objectives of ESA's specific role in DestinE.- Establish a process for demonstrating how DestinE third-party applications can be efficiently developed, implemented, integrated, and made operational within DESP.- Engageactive user communities in long-lasting collaborations for the purpose of co-evolution and co-design of the DestinE use cases and core system capabilities. DestinE is an initiative of the European Commission (under DG-CNECT), co-developed by ESA, ECMWF and EUMETSAT, aimed at developing a highly accurate digital model of the Earth to monitor and predict the interaction between natural phenomena and human activities, supporting the European Commission in achieving sustainable development objectives and contributing to theGreen Deal and Digital Strategy. ESA will develop the DESP providing policy and decision-making tools, several applications and services, amongst which interfaces to the DestinE Data Lake (DEDL, responsibility of EUMETSAT) the DestinE Digital Twin Engine and Digital Twins (DTE and DTs, responsibility of ECMWF).
