NORCAP has developed its Clean Energy Programme to support the humanitarian system and national governments to transition to green and circular approaches in their development and humanitarian assistance. This includes increased access to clean energy for end-users in humanitarian and displacement settings and switching humanitarian operations to renewable energy.
NORCAP and partners released the Blended Finance Solutions for Clean Energy in Humanitarian and Displacement Settings report and toolkit in Jan 2022. We are now seeking support to explore where and in what form NORCAP could be used as an enabler for such solutions, in collaboration with investors, energy providers, government/s, and receiving agencies.
Specific Objectives include:
- Evidenced and consultative analysis, including recommendations, on the opportunities for NORCAP in enabling blended finance solutions for people in humanitarian and displacement settings.
- Coordinate engagement from key stakeholders.
- Develop a strategic plan for NORCAP’s engagement in developing blended finance solutions, including guidance on required alignment and integration with NORCAP’s Strategy and other existing programmes.
- Support NORCAP in advocacy and external collaboration for piloting of the strategic plan.
