According to the municipal sub-plan energy and climate (2017-2030), Trondheim municipality will reduce direct greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2030. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from road traffic is a major challenge. The Norwegian Environment Agency's emission statistics for 2019 show that emissions from road traffic account for 34 % of the total emissions in Trondheim municipality. Of this, heavy vehicles account for about 20% and vans account for about 11% of emissions. In the coming years, the Municipality of Trondheim will draw up a municipal sub-plan for urban logistics and service mobility as part of the municipal planning strategy. There is generally limited knowledge about future-oriented solutions for urban logistics and in particular a lack of knowledge about the conditions in Trondheim. The municipal sub-plan for urban logistics and service mobility will therefore be an important tool for looking at the whole with the functions and services included in Trondheim city.
